1)       Why does Curly's wife spend so much time around the men? What is she looking for? Do you think she will find whatever she is looking for from any of the men on the ranch?

Of Mice and Men FB Assignment

 Read Of Mice and Men for 30 minutes, then do the exact same Facebook assignment at 10th, except for Lennie and George. Examples and instructions are below:

Create two complete FB profiles for Lennie and George that detail who the characters are. Hobbies, likes, interests, music, movies, etc. Add pictures and write three posts each as if you were the character. The posts need to reflect the style of the book and the personality of the two characters.

Example for Lennie: George was yellin’ at me agen today. So I jus went ahead an foun’ me a new little feller to pet. George thinks I’m gonna hurt ‘im, but I know I ain’t. Last time was jus an acksident.


Example for George: If I gotta tell Lennie one more time not to keep them filthy ol’ mice in his pocket, I’m gonna sock him right in the kisser! But he ain’t gonna listen. I don’t know why. We both know I’m the smart one of the group!

Community Service Project!

Community Service Project 2015
Part 1 Details: You and a group of up to 4 will create a way to help the community of Fes. Either through helping the people or the environment, or both.
-         You will research a cause that needs to be addressed and come up with a creative solution that will get other members of Amicitia involved.
o   What, Where, When, How, Who
-         You will come up with a group logo and slogan
-         Create a “commercial” or infomercial to stimulate interest
-         Create a promotional poster
-         Write a compelling speech using pathos, logos, ethos
This first part will culminate in a school-wide community service fair, where your will present your ideas to the school in hopes of getting them involved as well.
300 pts.

Part 2 Details: You and your entire group will follow through with your plan.
-         You will serve the community and prove it by one or all of the following:
o   Taking pictures
o   Receiving a letter of completion
o   Turning in official receipts
300 pts.

Part 3 Details: Your group will present a follow-up report to the entire school, explaining and showing how help was given. (Ppt., Prezi, etc.)
200 pts.
