Peer Edit for Research

Does the introduction give a clear understanding of the paper’s content? Does it set the tone for the academic nature of the paper?


Content and Transitions
Does the essay set a good pace with interesting content and information? Does it smoothly transition from one topic to another?


Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation
Does the essay have properly written GSP? Do the tenses match? Is it punctuated correctly? Are words spelled correctly?


MLA
Is the essay in correct MLA format? Are paragraphs clearly indented? Are sources cited properly? Are titles and subtitles done correctly?


Breadth and Depth
Are several areas of interest covered in the essay and are they explained enough to show that in depth research was done and understood?


Development of Information
Does the essay help to explain the topic? Does the paper sound as though written by an expert? Do you feel adequately informed?

Academic Scope
Does the author write in a professional/ academic style? Does it contain slang or inappropriate phrasing?


Overall story and conclusion
Evaluate the essay and conclusion as a whole.
What worked? What needs improvement?
